about

Now finally, on the 375th anniversary of his beloved city of Montreal, fans can find all his classic tributes in one brand new 14 track collection: “Fahrenheit 514” - The Best of Annakin Slayd’s MTL Anthems”. It will be available through most DL/Streaming outlets including Spotify, iTunes, GooglePlay & Deezer.

It’s been 7 years since his Montreal Canadiens anthem “Feels Like ’93” went viral on the back of the 2010 Habs team that went to the NHL’s Conference finals. They didn’t survive the Flyers in that series but Annakin Slayd came out a winner, as Canadians were introduced to a one of a kind Hip Hop artist. Since that breakout Spring, Slayd has followed up Feels Like ’93 with two more epic Habs anthems, “MTL Stand Up” and “Rock the Sweater”. Both were trending on Twitter in Canada, which led to a live Annakin Slayd performance at the Bell Centre in 2014.

Slayd followed with tributes to his beloved Montreal Expos which are not only cherished by the defunked franchise’s fans but many agree that his classic “Remember (A Tribute to the Expos)” helped spark the movement to bring an MLB team back to Montreal. His most recent song, “Tip the Cap (A Tribute to Tim Raines & Expos Nation)”, was released this summer upon Rock’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame and was highlighted by the MLB Network, CBC, TSN & Rogers Sportsnet.
(NOTE: Both “Remember” and “Tip of the Cap” will be available for streaming/download for the FIRST TIME on this collection!)

In addition to updated versions of Annakin Slayd’s Habs and Expos anthems, the album will feature “Shoot for Stars (Go Publique)” Slayd’s public school song made in collab with the English Montreal School Board, “Stay Gold” a 2014 fight song for Team Canada’s Olympic Men’s hockey team that won Gold in Sochi, “Jackie” an emotional tribute to baseball collar barrier breakerJackie Robinson, previously unreleased unplugged versions of “Feels Like ’93” and “Remember” plus the brand new title track about that irresistible MTL party vibe called “Fahrenheit 514” featuring Canadian Idol winner and Montrealer, Eva Avila.
